CNN Criticized Over "Gender or Race" Story   [Stephen Spruiell]

CNN is taking a lot of grief for posting a story titled, "Gender or race: Black women voters face tough choices in S.C."

The media have an unhealthy obsession with the race-and-gender aspects of this campaign that's only going to get worse if (when) Hillary or Obama go up against a Republican. But to the extent that race and gender have become an issue, Democrats and liberals deserve a lot of the blame. For years they've been training people — including people who work in the media — to think primarily in terms of their racial or gender identities, particularly when it comes to support for affirmative action. Can Democrats plausibly claim to be surprised when news organizations run this kind of story?
