Klein: McCain "Funded by Jewish Neocons"

How to get an indicator of what McCain is really thinking about foreign affairs? Easy, writes Joe Klein of Time, just look at all of the "Jewish neoconservatives" bankrolling him:

McCain hasn't said he was for regime change, but he has rattled sabers noisily, joked about bomb-bomb-bombing Iran and surrounded himself with, and been funded by, Jewish neoconservatives who believe Iran is a threat to Israel's existence.

Memo to Klein: You know who believes that Iran is a threat to Israel's existence? Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He's not Jewish. When Mahmoud Ahmadinejad starts talking about wiping other countries off the map, it isn't only Jews made nervous.

Newsbusters discusses at some length.

Odd how "neocon" has become an epithet of abuse meaning, roughly, "Jewish Republican," even though lots of the neocon-leaning thinkers associated with the Iraq War — Rice, Rumsfeld, &c., aren't Jewish, while conservatives who aren't "neo" in any appreciable way — say, Jonah Goldberg — are denounced as "neocons" based mostly on their surnames. People routinely call Milton Friedman a neocon, for Pete's sake. Read a book, geniuses.
