Bankruptcy Protection for Tribune Co?   [Guy Benson]

According to the AP, the Chicago Tribune's parent company has filed for bankruptcy protection.  The recession has hammered Tribune Co., which also owns WGN radio and television, the Los Angeles Times, and the Chicago Cubs, to the tune of $13 billion in debt. 
 
Several sources inside Chicago's downtown headquarters say owner Sam Zell sent out a company-wide email this morning urging a "don't panic, let's keep on chugging" mentality.
