Appearing on CNN, noted intellectual Bill Maher declared the United States a "stupid country," adding that we're getting "dumber and dumber by the day." This particular bout of venom and disdain was brought on by Maher's fear that Sarah Palin may still have a political future. No, I'm not taking his words out of context:
I'm afraid Maher may be conflating the American people at large with members of his studio audience. As Ramesh has been known to quip, Bill Maher may actually be the smartest person he knows.
